AMNESTY TENURE NOTE

Ali Ahmad Safizadeh was appointed as the commander of the IRGC’s Basij Resistance Sector Corps of Divandareh county in June 2022. He remained in this position until August 2024, when he was appointed as the commander of the IRGC’s Basij Resistance Sector Corps of Baneh county. Mehdi Jabari was subsequently appointed as the new commander of the IRGC’s Basij Resistance Sector Corps of Divandareh county. State media reports indicate that Ali Ahmad Safizadeh remained in his position of commander of the IRGC’s Basij Resistance Sector Corps of Baneh county as of February 2026, but that, sometime between then and May 2026, he was appointed as the commander of the IRGC’s Basij Resistance Sector Corps of Saqqez county.

Mehdi Jabari. Amnesty names only the person who immediately followed the 2022 holder — later successors are omitted, and successors are not themselves on the 87 unless they also held a listed 2022 seat.
