Gulf salt / seawater
L5 · CHAIN
Feed to polymer
Four stacked conversions. Chlor-alkali is unique to Arvand. Aromatics split Nouri (Assaluyeh) and Bouali (Mahshahr) into Tondguyan PET and Pars styrene. Olefins sit on ethane, NGL and Abadan naphtha. Utilities are not a side office — Fajr and Mobin are the reason clusters run.

The PVC spine
Salt → Arvand chlorine (585 kt) and caustic (660 kt) → EDC (direct + oxy) → VCM (343 kt) → S-PVC 300 kt + E-PVC 40 kt. Chlorine also leaves the fence to Karun (TDI/MDI) and the Mahshahr chlor-alkali customers. Arvand 2 is another ~300 kt PVC. Caustic is 80–90% of the domestic market; PVC about half. That is why a CEO swap at Arvand is a holding-level event even when the product mix does not move.
