Houshang Mobaraki (Mobarakipour)

AMNESTY TENURE NOTE

Houshang Mobaraki (Mobarakipour) was appointed as the FARAJA commander of Eslam Abad-e Gharb county in December 2021. He remained in this position until May 2024, when he was appointed as the head of the Anti-Narcotics Police of Kermanshah province. Aria Abdi was subsequently appointed as the new FARAJA commander of Eslam Abad-e Gharb county. State media articles indicate that Houshang Mobaraki (Mobarakipour) retained his position as head of the Anti-Narcotics Police of Kermanshah province as of June 2025. From around November 2025, however, state media reports identify Eghbal Karami as holding the position. Amnesty International was unable to find state media reports indicating the exact date of Houshang Mobaraki (Mobarankipour)’s departure from the position or information regarding any subsequent positions he has held.

IMMEDIATE SUCCESSOR

Aria Abdi. Amnesty names only the person who immediately followed the 2022 holder — later successors are omitted, and successors are not themselves on the 87 unless they also held a listed 2022 seat.
