AMNESTY TENURE NOTE

Amnesty International was unable to find state media articles indicating when Majid Arjmandfar was appointed as the deputy commander of the IRGC’s regional Hamzeh Seyed Al-Shohada Headquarters. However, the organization found several state media articles published between May 2011 and November 2016 which referred to him as having this position. According to state media reports, in November 2016, he was then appointed as the operations deputy commander of the IRGC’s Ground Resistance Force for several years. State media reports indicate that, by September 2019 at the latest, he had resumed the role of deputy commander of the IRGC’s regional Hamzeh Seyed Al-Shohada Headquarters. State media reports indicate that Majid Arjmandfar was still serving as deputy commander of the Hamzeh Seyyed Al-Shohada Headquarters as of January 2025. Amnesty International was unable to identify state media reports documenting his departure from the position. However, state media later reported the appointment of Esmaeil Khalilzadeh as deputy commander of the Hamzeh Seyyed Al-Shohada Headquarters in December 2025. Amnesty International was unable to find any information on any subsequent positions held by Majid Arjmandfar.
