AMNESTY TENURE NOTE

Amnesty International was unable to find state media articles indicating when Ma’ref Olfati was appointed as the commander of the IRGC’s Basij Resistance Sector Corps of Salas-e Babajani county. However, state media articles indicate that he had held this role since at least September 2021. In February 2023, Ma’ref Olfati was appointed as the commander of the IRGC’s Basij Resistance Sector Corps of Ghasr-e Shirin county. Mohammad Sharifi was subsequently appointed as the new commander of the IRGC’s Basij Resistance Sector Corps of Salas-e Babajani county. Ma’ref Olfati retained his position of the commander of the IRGC’s Basij Resistance Sector Corps of Ghasr-e Shirin county as of 2026.

Mohammad Sharifi. Amnesty names only the person who immediately followed the 2022 holder — later successors are omitted, and successors are not themselves on the 87 unless they also held a listed 2022 seat.
