AMNESTY TENURE NOTE

Amnesty International could not find any state media articles specifying when Mojtaba Karami was appointed as the commander of the IRGC’s 29 Nabi Akram Operational Division of the Nabi Akram Provincial Corps of Kermanshah. However, state media articles indicate that he had held this position since at least December 2020. He remained in this position until August 2023, when he was appointed as deputy commander of the IRGC’s Imam Hassan Mojtaba Provincial Corps of Alborz. Faramarz Safari was subsequently appointed as the new commander of the IRGC’s 29 Nabi Akram Operational Division of the Nabi Akram Provincial Corps
