AMNESTY TENURE NOTE

Mohmmad Pakpour was appointed as the commander of the IRGC’s Ground Resistance Force by the Supreme Leader in March 2010. He remained in this position until 13 June 2025, when he was appointed by the Supreme Leader as the general commander of the IRGC. Mohammad Karami was subsequently appointed by the Supreme Leader as the commander of the IRGC’s Ground Resistance Force. Mohammad Pakpour remained in his position as the general commander of the IRGC until 28 February 2026, when he was killed in an air strike carried out during the US-Israeli military attack against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
