Reza Ebrahimi was appointed as the head of the Office of the Deputy Provincial Governor for Political, Security and Social Affairs of West Azerbaijan in December 2021. In October 2024, he was appointed to concurrently act as the head of the Office of the Provincial Governor of West Azerbaijan. In January 2025, he was appointed by the then provincial governor of West Azerbaijan, Reza Rahmani, as the adviser of the provincial governor. Amnesty International was unable to find any information indicating changes to his position since then.
