AMNESTY TENURE NOTE

Amnesty International was unable to find state media reports specifying the date of Reza Faraji’s appointment as the commander of the Special Cohorts of FARAJA in West Azerbaijan province. However, state media reports indicate that he was in this position from before September 2022 and held it until at least May 2024. State media reports further indicate that, by October 2024, he had been succeeded by Reza Babapour. Amnesty International was unable to find state media reports regarding any subsequent positions held by Reza Faraji.

IMMEDIATE SUCCESSOR

Reza Babapour. Amnesty names only the person who immediately followed the 2022 holder — later successors are omitted, and successors are not themselves on the 87 unless they also held a listed 2022 seat.

State media reports further indicate that, by October 2024, he had been succeeded by Reza Babapour. Amnesty International was unable to find state media reports regarding any subsequent positions held by Reza Faraji.
