AMNESTY TENURE NOTE

Mehdi Ramezani was appointed as the deputy provincial governor for political, security and social affairs of Kurdistan in February 2022 by the then minister of interior, Ahmad Vahidi. He remained in this position until December 2024, when he was succeeded by Ali Akbar Varmaghani. Amnesty International was unable to find any information on any subsequent positions held by Mehdi Ramezani.
