Esmail Zareie Kousha was appointed as the provincial governor of Kurdistan in November 2021. He remained in this position until September 2024. Arash Zarehtan Lahouni was subsequently appointed as the provincial governor of Kurdistan. He was subsequently appointed as an advisor to the Supreme Audit Court in January 2025.
