AMNESTY TENURE NOTE
Ahmad Vahidi was appointed as the minister of interior in August 2021. He remained in this position until August 2024. Eskandar Momeni was subsequently appointed as the new minister of interior. In October 2025, Ahmad Vahidi was appointed by the Supreme Leader as the deputy head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. In December 2025, Ahmad Vahidi was appointed by the Supreme Leader as the deputy general commander of the IRGC. On 10 August 2026, state media published the decree by which the Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, appointed Ahmad Vahidi as the general commander of the IRGC.
