Yousef Maroufi

AMNESTY TENURE NOTE

Yousef Maroufi was appointed as the commander of the IRGC’s Basij Resistance Sector Corps of Saqqez county in June 2019. He remained in this position until August 2024. Mohsen Ivani was subsequently appointed as the new commander of the IRGC’s Basij Resistance Sector Corps of Saqqez county. State media reports indicate that, as of January 2025, Yousef Maroufi held the position of deputy commander of the Shaheed Boroujerdi Headquarters in West Azerbaijan province. Amnesty International was unable to find state media reports indicating the exact date of his appointment. He remained in this position as of 2026.

IMMEDIATE SUCCESSOR

Mohsen Ivani. Amnesty names only the person who immediately followed the 2022 holder — later successors are omitted, and successors are not themselves on the 87 unless they also held a listed 2022 seat.
