Hossein Ashtari

AMNESTY TENURE NOTE

Hossein Ashtari was appointed as the general commander of FARAJA by the Supreme Leader in March 2015. He remained in this position until January 2023, when he was appointed by the then head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, as his senior adviser for security and police affairs. He retained this position as of 2026. Ahmadreza Radan was subsequently appointed by the Supreme Leader as the new general commander of FARAJA.
